Many Homebuyers get a call from their Solicitor asking them to confirm that they have building insurance in place for the new property. This can come as a shock. The Solicitor will be notified that the Buyer is interested. The Buyer also receives information alongside their quote. Purely information about Flexi Smart with no obligation to take out the insurance.
The Solicitor calls the Buyer at the scheduled time and both parties can discuss if the Flexi Smart insurance meets their requirements. The policy is just £39 and can be ordered by the Mortgage Solicitor from their Onesearch Direct ordering portal.
After Exchange Of Contracts
After exchange of contracts the Buyer, has now entered a legally binding agreement to purchase the property and cannot pull out. The Buyer can now compare the insurance market and maybe consider transferring their existing building insurance. This is now an opportunity to get a great deal on the building and contents insurance on the new property which must be in place within 28 days after exchange or on completion.
